Volmi



Most of Volmar is ocean. The little land on the planet had the tendency to be very sandy. The planet’s proximity to the sun makes the weather very hot and the water managed to increase the humidity to the point where the air feels thick. The Volmi orginated as a tribal society. The tribe one belonged to was easily determined by the fins on one's head. Fin structure is inherited from the father. Even now the Volmi use three tiered names. Their given, their tribal, and their family. early in the Empire's grab for power it took total control of the planet, making Volmi a rare sight off planet.

Personality: Quiet, proud, and resilant.

Physical Description: Volmi average 1.8 meters in height but can vary greatly from that. Their skin is a dark green that greys in some area due to age. They have red eyes and a secondary clear eyelid. Hairless, Volmi have zero to four thin fins on top of their heads. Gill slits are on either side of thier neck. Volmi have wide mouths on each side of which barbels hang. They have no visible noses. Volmi reach the age of maturity at 20 and live to be a little over 200.

Language: Volmar. Due to Imperial occupation all Volmi speak Basic.

+1 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom, -1 Constitution. Volmi are quick and have tremendous willpower, but are not as hearty as other races.
Medium-size. As Medium-size creatures, Volmi have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Volmi base speed is 10 meters.
Webbed hands and feet: Because of their webbing Volmi gain +4 to all swim checks. Gills: 15 minutes times one plus their constitution bonus. Thus a 14 Con would enable a Volmi to stay underwater for forty-five minutes.
Lowlight vision: See twice as far as humans in low light. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
Delicate organs: Volmi suffer a –2 Penalty on Fortitude checks involving Poisons. Creatures not familiar with Volmi biology also suffer a –2 penalty when trying to give them medical treatment.
